In loving memory: My Canon XSi

My wonderful first Digital SLR, which got me through my first 2.5 years of real efforts at photography, a photo-a-day project, travels to dozens of cities and a couple countries, and probably 150,000 photos, has died. It took its last photo in Ibarra, Ecuador on January 2, 2011. The remains have been brought to Philadelphia, where it will be dissected to learn how it worked. It will be missed, but not forgotten.

The XSi is survived by a Fuji point and shoot and the newest member of the family, the Canon 60D.

People interested in paying their respects should vote on the best photo of the year by Friday January 7th at midnight ET. Many of those photos were taken with the beloved XSi.
