Today, our new activist group, Philly GAWD (Global AIDS Watch Dogs), along with ACT UP Philadelphia and Health GAP, played an April Fool's joke on Senator Specter and Congressman Fattah. We showed up with a Publisher's Clearing House check for $9 bn, the amount of money needed from Congress in 2011 to fund global AIDS programs. They promised to provide that funding two years ago, but they have not kept their promise, and millions of people promised life-saving AIDS drugs have been forced onto waiting lists.
